A local parade

John is finally home from his month long travel that included NYC, Seattle, London, and Brazil. We spent this weekend staying local and discovered a parade today that went right by our house...Go Hare Krishnas! :)

Felix 2 1/2 months old and Levi 2 1/2 years old

Levi waiting for the candy

Here they come w/ their 3 story floats

It was a bit of a different parade, but they still handed out lollipops so little Levi was a happy boy

Squeaky clean buggy

I adore the moments when Levi's just hopped out of the bath. He's so clean and snuggly!

Grandmommy & Granddaddy visit Santa Monica

Heather and Bob spent a long weekend with us. They not only watched both boys solo, but joined us for our weekend traditions. It was so special having time w/ them in our LA life...

Granddaddy hanging out w/ the boys

Hank loves anyone and everyone, but he's particularly fond of Bob

We took them to the 'Big Train' at Giffith Park, and Felix rode the train too!

Grandmommy introduced Levi to pinwheels. At 1st he wasn't overly impressed, but was soon enough amazed by this simple toy

Hanky joined us too!

Felix LOVED hanging w/ his Grandmommy. He even showed off by sleeping through the night for the very 1st time on her watch (10:30pm to 6:15am!), and he's now sleeping til 7am! Thanks Heather!

We took them to our favorite burger cafe in Los Feliz

We ended the weekend at Hollywood Bowl to see Dolly Parton!

Dolly was absolutely amazing. Not only did she play over 6 different instruments, she told anecdotes about her life in between each song! We had the most yummy picnic and enjoyed every minute of the concert (She did sing "I'll Always Love You" and "9 to 5" in her encore). Thank you Heather and Bob for the special evening!

Levi and Grace

Jennie (my oldest childhood friend) came over w/ Grace this week for a little play date. Levi loved Gracey and spent most of the time holding her hand and showing her his room, toys and his wagon. It was so cute to watch the new generation get to know each other!

Bath time at Mumsey and Papa's

Felix is no stranger to the bath. We started bathing him w/ Levi when he was 2 weeks old. This time, he finally enjoyed a solo bath at Mumsey and Papa's. He seems quite happy in the bath until we take him out.

Sad little Felix

A budding cook

Tonight I taught Levi how to make pizza. He was quite good at rolling the dough and throwing the flour around. :)

Cars 2

Levi doesn't watch TV, but he does watch 4 movies with his favorite being Cars! We met up w/ the So Cal Holmes and took Levi to see his 1st cinema experience...Cars 2!

Levi on a high from "poppycorn" and skittles, waiting for the movie to start (note: we were at a 10:30 screening on a Sunday, so the theater was empty)

Half way through the movie, Cars 2 number 1 fan passed out from the all excitement. He did rally in the and caught the last 15 minutes.

Proof!

Felix is 2 months old!

I can't believe our baby is already 2 months and he's growing like a weed.

According to his 8 week check up:
14 lbs & 10 oz
24 inches long

This puts him in the 95th percentile for both weight and height. He's going to be a big boy! Felix is cooing, smiling (although more serious than Levi was), and very mellow. He loves to sit in his bouncy chair and bat at toys as well as watch big brother Levi (who enjoys kissing him and honking his nose). Felix most favorite activity is being snuggled. This baby can cuddle until the cows come home!

4th of July weekend at the RO

Clarendon is the perfect town to celebrate the 4th of July. There were festivities all weekend. We hit as much as we could, in addition to hanging out w/ the Family. The 4th of July has become our favorite holiday!

Check out the weekend events, complete with Chicken roping!

Brothers
The Popsicle gang

The family hosted a fantastic BBQ at the Ranch. We even had 3 tarantulas visit us (no picture shared as I couldn't get that close due to major fear of spiders)

Both our favorite Texan Aunties were there as well as Uncle Lewis!

Complete with homemade cobbler

We had a good showing at the hill top BBQ

Billy, JWG and Uncle Lewis

The BBQ started late, so little Levi was exhausted and begging to go home. We finally caved and set him up in the back of Billy's SUV w/ the iPad... technology to the rescue!

The sunset was gorgeous at the Ranch and by then it was only 80 degrees

Billy took Levi to the Ranch to show him around and look for turtles, so we could compete in the Turtle Races on the 4th of July (no luck on turtles however, as it's not rained since the previous Fall!)

Felix came as well and lounged about

Enjoying cuddles from his Granddad

Levi learned to fish, but no luck. The catfish weren't hungry :-(

Uncle Jimmy kept baby Felix good company throughout the weekend

We also visited the Clarendon Country Club. It's like no other Country Club....

Pool time at the club

Brothers on 4th of July morning in the bunk house

The famous Clarendon Turtle Races, where kids bring their turtles (after painting their shells so each one is different) to see which one crosses the 4-ways stop first!

There they go! The smaller turtles took top prizes in each age category this year.

The fans

Only in Texas...

The Drive-In was playing Cars 2 and had dressed up all these cars to resemble the movie. Levi was blown away, so we drove by it at least twice a day. Unfortunately we didn't make it to the showing, but are taking Levi this weekend to see the movie. It will be his 1st cinema experience (not counting when Mumsey and I took him in London and he was 6 wks old).
