Trains and Planes

We spent the weekend riding trains and watching planes. First up, Griffith Park Train Park (again). On a side note, it never seemed that hard to get a picture of Levi and I smiling together, but add Felix into the mix, and it's near impossible!

Riding the train...again. And again. And again.

I really think riding on trains is where Levi is happiest...

Felix appears to be following suit!

John took us all to the park next to LAX, so we could watch the planes land and take off right above our heads. At first it sounded a bit of a bore, but I must admit it was really cool!

We never quite know what Levi is doing!

Our backyard

While we don't have much of an official garden, front or back yard, we do live 2 blocks from the beach. Our walk to the beach includes HUGE grassy hills and incredible climbing trees with the end result a massive playground on the beach (oh, and the beach)!

One of Levi's favorite activities is climbing trees. He's super quick and agile. Definitely all boy!

We discovered that Felix fits in the swings and he LOVES it, which is so fun b/c Levi has never been a fan of the swings.

How funny is it to see Levi barefoot in mid-January?

A favorite past time of any adult or child...rolling down a hill!

Brotherly Love at 8 months

Felix turned 8 months and already has a best friend; Levi. They have adored each other from the moment they met, and I know it's the greatest gift John and I could have given them. Even when little Levi doesn't want to share his toys, he still keeps Felix just close enough so that he feels a part of things.

Felix is sitting up and loving seeing the world from this new angle

Hanky adores little Felix and doesn't go a day with out slobbering him with kisses

Both boys loves to look at books and can sit still for a good amount of time staring at pictures and, in Levi's case, narrating the pictures, and in Felix's case chewing on the pages

There really is nothing better then watching these two learn to love each other

Levi and his trains!

Messie and PopPop spoiled Levi and took him out for a morning full of pancakes and trains! We've been pointing out the new light rail every time we come to Seattle, and Levi has been begging to ride on it! Finally, his wish came true!

Baby Felix is growing up!

Little Felix is doing all sorts of new tricks at nearly 8 months. He's sitting up, clapping his hands and smiling a whole lot more. He's still as sweet as can be and will never pass up the chance to be snuggled!

but still maintains his curious and serious self!

NYE 2011

This was one of my most treasured birthdays as it was hassle-free, and we spent most of the day with the boys. It began with breakfast at the Pancake house, followed by a romp in the park w/ Hank and a delicious lunch w/ my parents. John rounded the evening out by taking me to my new favorite restaurant in Seattle, Le Bete, a super-quaint little French bistro that left me longing for Paris (again).

A boy and his dog in heaven

My other favorite highlight was hearing Levi sing me Happy Birthday. It's so hard to believe he's old enough to carry a tune and get the words right (well, mostly right)!

A Double Play Date with Ruby and Calvin

It's becoming part of our Seattle ritual that we have a double play date w/ Ruby and Calvin. They are super generous hosts, and we always leave their with full bellies, exhausted children, and an hankering for a house with lots of space!

Ruby and Levi have quite similar personalities...they're both very sweet...

quite social

but hold their own with other children! It's the perfect match.

Laura made us very yummy breakfast, and we had a little early bday celebration

Ruby adores little Felix; he was quite happy to soak up some additional kisses and snuggles

It was such a fun morning and reminded us (again) how lucky we are to have such wonderful friends in our lives with whom we can pick up right where we left off!
