Memorial in Mammoth

Michael and Sarah joined us in Mammoth, and Hanky didn't leave their side

We discovered all sorts of new things in Mammoth... including the hot springs

Levi took his 1st digger onto his face... we all happen to see it happen; it felt like slow motion: he was running at warp-speed and tripped over his mama's foot, face-planting onto the gravel, with his whole body rocking up onto the side of his face. Poor Buggy!

The weather was beautiful all weekend, despite the snow storm that initially welcomed us (btw, the mountain is open for skiing until July 4th!)

We did several hikes, this longer one sans Levi

John and I felt spoiled by having the Goodwin's to ourselves for a long weekend

The top of the hike...75 and not a cloud in the sky

Hanging out w/ Hanky (who spent most of the time diving in the snow patches and swimming)

Levi managed to eat several cartons of blueberries by himself throughout the weekend

He joined us for our leisurely Sunday hike around the lake

Levi may be a mama's boy, but his daddy isn't far behind. Levi spent most of the weekend reaching for him!

The hiking was beautiful, complete with Aspen trees (who knew Mammoth had anything other than Pines)

Snack and swim break
Levi insisted on getting in the fresh mountain water, despite it being ice cold

He finally decided it was to cold and let us put his sneakers back on

Near the end of our last hike, Levi was still all smiles. It was a much a needed weekend full of R&R with two of our most favorite people!

A New Pair of Wheels!

John got a new bike this weekend and I'm not sure who benefited more? Levi or John!

3 Generations

A week of being spoiled by two loving grandparents is just what the doctor ordered!

Levi and Grandaddy Bob on their morning ritual walk Lake Sammamish Park

Levi was spoiled with a week full of homemade meals by Granmommy, trips to the park and even Gymboree!

Levi grew quite fond of his grandparents after spending a quality week together (he even learned how to turn off/on lights and velcro his shoes)

In the midst of it all, he even made it over to Bellevue to see his 92 year old GGMA who's 80 year old doll was a huge hit

Despite some May showers, Levi spent most of the week outside just being a boy!

Levi goes to the dentist!

Levi's in Seattle this week, and his holiday up north included his 1st trip to the dentist (the same one I've been going to since I was 6)

Even I remember the best part about visiting Dr Sakuma: her fish tank!

Warming up to the room

Quickly realizing that the chair resembles a slide!

I wasn't there, but according to his Grandparents, Levi was quite curious about everything

For what it's worth, he does walk around the house brushing his teeth a good portion of the day (w/ multiple toothbrushes I might add and in the bath)

Getting a professional lesson on how to brush

In comes Dr Sakuma...this is the picture that potentially scars children for life!

Although from what I hear, this lasted seconds, and he received a solid report. Teeth are coming in nicely, and his brushing is paying off! Now if we could only get him to start using his toothbrush and not ours...

Road Trip

JWG and LHG headed North, while Hanky and I headed South to visit Dani and Chris in San Diego!

Chris and Hanky bonded, while Dani and I went dress shopping and scouted venues!

Dani and Chris are set to wed next summer and I couldn't be more excited. Isn't it just the best feeling when you're best friend finds someone that you adore nearly as much them? We might even include Chris and John on our next travel adventure (lucky them and lucky us).

Levi's 1st pair of Salt Water sandals

I was so excited for Levi to debut his 1st pair of Salt Waters because as a kid we ALL wore Salt Waters in the summer time. As it turns out, this apparently was a Seattle (maybe Northwest tradition). Nonetheless, Levi didn't miss a step in his new shoes!

They immediately assisted in a break way (Levi's figured out the latch on our gate and like his mama, is a sprinter

Levi's breakaways usually end in a capture by dad and Hank! This child is fast!

Mother's Day at the County Line

Mother's day was full of surfers, howling wind and time w/ JWG, LHG and Hank. It was a very relaxing and peaceful day So Cal style.

Mammoth in the Springtime

Mammoth in May was still covered in snow, so Hanky was in his element

A boy and his dog...best of friends

3 days in a row and Levi was the only child on the snow covered playground (dedication)

We managed to keep Levi busy w/ exploration of the State Park

Levi experienced the Mojave dessert for the 1st time

Kings of the hill, Mojave Dessert

The end of a long weekend was complete with skiing, explorations in the snow, dry/warm dessert air, several trips to the Do-it Center and yummy homemade meals. It was a perfect weekend away at the Bunker.
