Santa Monica Pier....Favorite Childhood Pasttime

I took Levi and Felix to the Pier for the first time to ride the 'rides.' It was magical to watch them experience one of childhood's greatest moments. We are probably one of the few families who haven't taken their children to Disneyland (yet). Not for any particular reason, other then it just isn't a big topic of conversation. That being said, I loved watching the brothers race from ride to ride & giggle as they figured out the nuances of how to make a plane go up and down. They loved the 'games' as much as I had remembered, including skee ball.   We finished off the night with dinner at Bubba Gumps.

A Sunday With My Sons

John was in NYC this past weekend, so the boys and I had set out for a day of exploration and inspiration and laughs. First stop the LA Getty Musuem, followed by an afternoon of swimming and a bath for all three. It was supringsly a day full of grace (minimal meltdowns) and a lot of curiosity and love.

Another Milestone in the Gibbons House

We celebrated John's 39th birthday with a homemade cake and lots of love. Every day I'm reminded how blessed the children and I are to have him in our lives. 

Levi's Last Day of Pre-School

Levi's last day of school was full of music, joy and I must admit a few tears. I was suprised at how grown up Levi and his friends appeared.  The thought of knowing they have the rest of their lives in front of them just filled my heart with joy.

Suprise trip to Palm Springs

We suprised the boys recently and took them to Palm Springs. Our requirements were a hotel with an awesome pool. We found the perfect spot, and the boys were in heaven. We never left the hotel and I was reminded how special it is when you're child to get to stay in a hotel and swim ALL day. 

It was wonderful to watch the boys and their excitement all weekend!

Family Bike Rides

Levi dusted off the cobwebs on his bike, and we have been enjoying nightly family rides through town. This has become one of my favorite family rituals.  I've watched Levi get even more comfortable on his bike especially as he experiences freedom and independence.
