Levi makes the Austin Chronicle!

We just discovered that Levi was featured in the Austin Chronicle (July 23rd 2010 issue). We were in Austin for a family wedding, and because it was 100+ degrees, we spent as much time as we could at the new water park!

Levi met up with lots of friends!

Over the 2 weeks, Levi caught up a variety of his little friends....

Levi with Ruby Baker who is sweet as can be (and, also one tough cookie; she held her own beautifully with little Levi)

Exploring Ruby's garden

Play date with John Enell, who's 4 weeks younger than Levi, and Bbig sister, Gigi

Levi with Chloe Coogan, who looks just like her mama Erica! Beautiful!

This car always causes little scuffles

Even Hanky made this play date (Matty and Tammy stopped by to see us all)

Levi wrapped up the holidays with John Enell's 2nd bday party at Little Gym

Baby #2 on the way...

JWG and I are anxiously awaiting the arrival for baby #2 due on May 12th. I'm wondering if he or she is going to be as punctual as Levi who arrived on his due date w/ 9 hrs to spare!

My most favorite bday

JWG planned the most special bday for me this year. Complete with a surprise overnight downtown at Inn at the Market, a visit to SAM to see the Picasso exhibit, lunch at Virginia Inn Pub, dinner at Book Bindery, and breakfast at Etta's. Most importantly, we had 24 hrs of just us, and it was heavenly.

Christmas in Seattle with the Grandparents!

We spent 2 weeks in Seattle split between Mumsey & Papa's house and Grandmommy & Granddaddy's. It was a very relaxing holiday season, packed w/ yummy meals, movies, playtime, and sleep!

Xmas Eve at Mumsey & Papa's

Levi's all boy and all about cars!

JWG drove up from LA so Hanky could join us!
Levi LOVES his Papa, otherwise known as "Pop Pop" or "Popeye"!

Levi taking after his Mumsey and Mama!

Grandmommy made us her traditional 'floating island' on Christmas!

JWG and his Mama!

Christmas morning at Grandmommy and Granddaddy's in Bellevue

Levi with his Granddaddy!

Enjoying their new books

Gina sent up a traditional bread from Peru for all of us to enjoy!

In the midst of the many homemade meals, we enjoyed our favorite milkshakes!

GGMa joined us for lots of laughs and cuddles!

JWG and I took full advantage of 2 sets of grandparents and enjoyed lots of date nights!

Papa took Levi to the park many mornings and afternoons

Who said it rains everyday in Seattle?!

Levi LOVES to play in the water and throw rocks... he's definitely all boy!

Little Levi is getting so big, and Christmas is particularly becoming more and more fun w/ him!

2 reindeer and 1 curly-haired camel

Mom and I took Levi on an adventure to Swansons Nursery in Ballard to see their camel named Curley, accompanied by Blitzen and Dasher, the two reindeer!

Curly lives in Eastern Washington and visits the nursery for the holidays. He's 3 years old and incredibly friendly!

Despite the sighting of your not-so-everyday animals, Levi's highlight was definitely the big train!

He even managed to find a cozy chair near the train, allowing him a birds-eye, 'comfortable' view of the choo-choo!

Nature vs. Nurture

It seems that John and I are always having a 'nature vs nurture' conversation as we watch our little Levi grow up. The other day at the park, I witnessed what absolutely must be nature. Levi had spotted a handful of cars piled up in the sand pit and immediately scouted a clean area to relocate them to.

He started moving the cars and trucks 1-by-1 to their new home

Once he got them all lined up (perfectly in a row), he decided that their new home wouldn't do; something just wasn't right. He began relocation #2...

However, he wasn't quite satisfied, as he wanted them slightly higher on the incline

Finally by move #3, Levi was happy with their new home

Once the cars were in place, he grabbed the towel we had brought with us and gave the slides a solid pat down as to avoid a wet tooshie, since it had rained the night before. Before sliding down, he brought me the towel as to ensure it didn't end up in the dirt. Just like his Dada, everything has its place and everything must be tidy. In this case, nature definitely prevailed!
