Mikee's back!

Michael came for another visit and it was just fun and easy. We love it when he comes to town as he just folds into our routine and Levi is always over the moon happy to be with him (and of course Hank too).

Mikee woke up to giddy Levi who couldn't wait to cover him w/ his 'Cars' stickers!

We woke up on Sat and headed to Penelope's house for brunch (I got a hall pass and was able to go)

Levi and Penelope devoured their cinnamon rolls in preparation for Easter games at the local park

Sean and Laurie spoiled us with an incredible homemade brunch

We headed to the local park which was complete with Easter Egg hunts (slightly stressful as there was about 50 eggs to 200 children), face painting and a fire engine for the children to climb

The kids were taking it all in as were the dadas

Levi and Penelope were more into carrying their baskets around then competing in the egg hunt

Levi captured Penelope's heart again by giving her a lolipop

Of course, Levi was most interested in the playground and a new toy that was floating around. Didn't take long for Levi to begin hopping around on the new favorite toy!

Hanky joined us and attracted his usual fan fare

A mellow weekend with LHG, JWG & Hanky!

I've been on bed rest for nearly 2 weeks, so this past weekend remained quite mellow. I finally ventured out with John, and we took Levi to his very 1st play, 'Three Little Pigs.'

Penelope and her parents, Laurie and Sean, joined us. While Miss P was very into the 40 min play, Levi was terrified of the 'Big Bad Wolf,' and sadly we had to leave at intermission.

Levi requested the park, so off we went where he immediately discovered an abandoned scooter.

Penelope showed up w/ her bat and ball, so Levi continued on his sports kick. John got out the bubble maker and immediately became a kid magnet.

Back to bed (or couch) rest Levi caught the end of 'The Letter Factory' while I practiced my own Z's.

On Sunday, we dyed Easter eggs in preparation for two egg hunts Levi's participating in next weekend!

Levi's very into art projects right now, so we spend a lot of time painting and coloring!

The weekend was complete with a trip to Home Depot w/ Dada and a project. This time, they built a screen for our guest room/office window. I love that John is so handy and even better that Levi will learn the tricks of the trade!

Finally, Hank kept in step with us through out the entire weekend demanding extra hugs and kisses.

Memories with Mumsey

Mumsey's been with us for almost 10 days, and we've been busy (especially Levi and her)...not to mention, she's helped make our lives incredibly easy with all the little things she does!

While JWG and I were in San Diego, Levi learned the novelty of eating dinner in the bathtub! Note: yellow water = Crayola dye drops :-)

He showed off his scooting skills w/ his cousins!

Mumsey took him to the gallery to learn to paint on an easel, and Levi took it quite seriously!

We came home to handful of lovely one-of-a-kind paintings

Mumsey also picked up some bird houses for Levi, who continued to paint his way through the week

Mumsey cooked us many homemade meals, complete with cousins

While Mama was on bed rest, John took Mumsey, Levi and friends, Sean and Penelope, to Griffith Park to experience the 'Big Choo Choo' and the ponies!

Levi is in a major train phase right now, so he was in his element!

Penelope and Levi making the rounds on the ponies

Levi even took Mumsey for a spin in the little pony ring

Afterwards, John took them all to our favorite hamburger shack next to the Park

Finally, Levi showed off his baseball skills for Mumsey throughout the entire week. We've had to move him down to a small regular size ball to create more of a challenge! All in all, we had a lovely visit w/ her and are excited for her to return in May!

Happy Boy!

Levi's had a rough week w/ Mama on bed rest, but out comes the wagon & instant happiness!

4 weeks to go....

We're counting down to May 13th. He's already 6 pounds!

Dani's Wedding

Mumsey came to town to watch Levi, so JWG and I could enjoy Dani's wedding weekend from beginning-to-end in San Diego!

We arrived late Friday night (in time for drinks w/ the soon-to-be-husband-and-wife) and then woke up Sat am early to check out every possible surf break. JWG went to school in San Diego, so I enjoyed the tour (which did include the Italian restaurant where he cooked throughout school)

We also relished in a very relaxing breakfast (sans Levi)

Next up...rehearsal at Scripps. Dani with her mom and dad!

Chris couldn't be lovelier (true Midwest boy) and was well represented from the Central states. Above is Grandpa Wally...92, fully engaged and embracing technology!

The view from where Dani and Chris were married!

Practicing the entrance

Following rehearsal, we had a scrumptious bbq on the beach...I must say this is one of the BEST wedding parties. All of their friends were incredibly friendly, fun, and super interesting!

They even had cheesesteaks cooked up, which were heavenly!

Rehearsal dinner was held in La Jolla and was an intimate group, allowing us to really get to know their extended family and friends.

Dani looked exceptionally beautiful and was glowing...Chris is definitely the man of her dreams! Just as John and I headed to bed (post night cap at the hotel bar), we had a horrible scare; the baby and I were rushed to the hospital. Luckily after a few days stay, baby and I are both 100% healthy, but sadly enough we missed Dani's wedding. :(

Dani and Chris were married on Sunday. From what I could tell from the window of my hospital room, it was blue sky morning and shaping up to be a perfect day for one of my most treasured friends. Dani called/texted me throughout the day. Despite missing the details, I still felt like I was right there next to her (bridesmaid #3!). I could just tell in her voice, texts, and pictures...she was happier then ever and had chosen the most perfect man to be her husband.

From the pictures, she looked as beautiful as she always does; confident, relaxed, and present. I find one of the greatest feelings in the world is seeing people you love genuinely happy. John and I have no doubt that these two will live a very full life together, and we can't wait to be a part of their memories!
